What percent of bats carry rabies?

I don 't know exactly how many different kinds of blocking live in Omaha, Nebraska area but I am interested in knowing quant0 from quant0 is likely to carry rabies. My kind? Deathly afraid of them. Just curious.

    1% or less.

    Bats can get the rabies virus, but the incidence of bats and rabies is very low, usually only about one half of one percent of bats tested, test positive for the virus.

    The percentage of bats that carry rabies in the U.S. is about .5%. Not all bats are rabid…because if they were there wouldnt be any bats. Bats suffer the effects of rabies and it will eventually kill them. The is a whole section in the link that explains all about the chance of getting rabies from a bat.
