How do i get rid of bats in my backyard?

We entered a new city a month ago and we have two large dogs. Have interfered with three blocks and I saw others flying low. Last week, one of our dogs was sick and died. At this point I could worry less for the assets of the blocks. As if to free them?.

That is really going to be difficult.
Bats normally come out at dusk and fly near lamp posts to catch bugs flying around the light.
If you have lights on around your house during the evening, you may want to shut them off.
They are only coming to your area because you have an abundance of flying insects.
You may need to spray your area well and tree’s.

Some websites try to sell ultrasonic sound emitters to get rid of bats, but they don’t work. Some old wive’s tales recommend the use of mothballs. You can even find bat traps on the market that may be illegal to use on bats. The only way to get rid of bats is to install a one way door and remove all of the bats and seal all of the entry points.
See if you can find someone to build a box for such an act or look on the net to see what is out there to buy or get an idea to construct. Hope this helps!

If you get rid of the bats that are there now, more will come. They’re coming after insects. I have no idea if bug zappers will remove enough bugs from your area to keep the bats from finding it good hunting. Short of screening the whole yard in, I think your best bet is to keep the dog in after dusk.
Are you sure the dog’s death was bat-related? Your dogs do have their rabies shots, yes?

I am about to ask this question myself and seen yours pull up. I am sorry to hear about your dog, but I am glad you said that because not 10 minutes ago I was actually worried about my dog going outside. Tonight they were diving at me and my neighbor. I don’t know if we should call animal control or what. You might give it a try…the worst they could say is “no”. Good luck.
