My dog was just a block failure. I also found a child's fault block in our yard. Who should I shall contact to see if they have rabies? I kept in a bag.

Yes you should. If you have one rabid bat there’s more. I hope there not.

Take the dead bats to your vetrinarian. They should be able to run tests to be 100% sure.
Of course, if your dog is up to date on his or her shots, you should be fine, anyway.

Call Animal Control (usually a division of the municipality) and they will tell you what to do. If rabies is a concern in your area, they will know, and tell you what to do.
Since rabies is transmitted by the bite of a live animal, your dog will be fine, regardless. You don’t get rabies from a dead animal.

Call either your local animal control or the county health department. If you touched them, you should call your doctor as well.

I would suggest that you call your dogs vet. Let the vet know what happened and see when you can bring your dog in. Its good that you saved the bats, bring the bats and your dog to the vet asap. I hope everything works out well! Good luck! : )

Hello, you can contact the local animal shelter, they can take the dead bats away, but there will not be any rabies investigation unless there are symptoms in either the dog (who has of course been vaccinated) or in live bats in the area. Rabies are pretty unlikely.

My dogs got ahold of a raccoon but my vet wouldn’t perform the rabies check. Apparently the state has to perform the tests so I just called animal control and they came and picked the raccoon up. This was in New Jersey. May be different where you are. Still, animal control is an option.

I would say ask a vet. Because then they can tell u how to treat your dog while u find someone to contact about the bats. The vet also may have a answer to you question. plzz email me back if u do wat i say. And tell me how it went!!
