GET SOME REALLY STRONG TAPE AND NAIL IT IN THE CORNER OF THE CEILING AND WALLS. IF YOU CATCH ANY BE SURE TO USE THOSE HEAVY DUTY OVEN MITTS TO DISPOSE OF THEM. THEN PATCH UP YOUR ROOF AND WALLS WITH SOME KIND OF WIRE MESH

You are not allowed to - they are a protected species and they don’t crawl in, they are living there - and if you trap or kill them you risk prosecution. Ask your local council.

If you don’t like bats my guess is you don’t like bugs either - if you get rid of the bats you’ll have more bugs. Live with the bats in the attic and take steps to stop them getting from the attic into the house….it will improve the heat efficiency of your home too.

You have to find where they are coming in and close off their entry hole. Most of the time it is through unscreened openings in the eaves. It is an easy fix, just go up there during the day and look around for daylight and seal those holes. But I would call a professional to remove those who have already made your attic their home. Bats bite and carry diseases, so I would not take any chances.

My friend has bats in the attic of his northwoods cabin from time to time. We stop at a fireworks shop and buy smoke bombs. (The ones that just smoke, do nothing else.) We light them and throw them in the attack. The bats come out of holes into the house area, and we hit them with tennis rackets. Then we put heavy leather gloves on and throw them in the trash.
