    I’ve heard of this weird band from the 90’s named Mushroomhead. I don’t really like
    90’s metal..but oh well. Just heard of them.

    First you must define metal from alternative, punk and so on. Once done you look at old bands that are true metal like Metalica Iron Maiden AC/DC Pantera and so on. You will find that there is no real new metal band since the 1980 but again you can look at defmetal or Goth and you will find bands like Nightwish that is also 1990ish again you must consider that some “metal bands” is not real metal or true metal but rather a heavy pop music so again first define metal as classic heavy, hardcore, darkcore or mixed “like punk or heavy alternative… once done you can identify what band is a true metal band.
