seza_bezza asked:

A child who has driven the block in my laundry tub with water in it, it got infradiciato, so I removed it, it s in an old cage of mice, in blankets with a light (for heat) and bright in the cage. It seems vividly, but it was stuff in clothes detergent and possibly swallowed it. What should I do? : S There is possibly a nest in the attic?

in australia we have a place u can contact named “wires” where people trained in care of wildlife will come and take the baby bat and care for it ,check it out, and then release it

if your not in australia then surely there has got to be something like this in your country

or maybe u can contact the RSPCA they are universal arent they?

Be reasonable. Take it out and put it underneath a bush.

dont be ‘reasonable’. you should take it to your local vet or wires if your in aus.

possibly yes there may be an nest in the attic have you checked!

If there is put him back up, if he has lasted 24 hours he should be fine! In the UK we have the bat group and they are very good.

Try calling you vet he maybe able to suggested what to do with him, or go though the yellow pages someone may be able to give you advice!

I know your trying to keep it warm but turn the light off, bats dont like bright lights. Try a warm hot water bottle instead.

    good luck!

and dont forget to feed it.
free it after about 2 or 3 days

Call your local Department of Agricukture or Humane Society. They are trained to remove the bats (if there is a nest), and they have the facilities to take care of the one that you’ve caught.
Remember that bats do carry many diseases, and if you are bitten, the rabies shots that you’ll have to go through are extremely painful.

How do you know it’s a baby? Fruit bats can be really small. I would let it go outside if he is active.

Why do you think it is a baby…adult bats can be very tiny. You need to try and release it and see if it can fly. You also need to wear gloves when handling it as you do not want to get bitten. If bitten you would have to have the bat rabies tested in which case they would have to kill it. It may be illegal for you to have the bat in your possesion depending on where you live. You need to contact you local Animal control for help if the bat cannot fly and be released, as they can help you find a rehab in your area.
